About Matcha

What is matcha?

Matcha is a traditional Japanese green tea powder made from carefully selected, stone‑ground tea leaves. You consume the entire leaf, which means more antioxidants and nutrients. It delivers a gentle, long‑lasting energy lift without the coffee crash.

What’s the difference between matcha and regular green tea?

With matcha you drink the powdered leaf, while regular green tea is steeped and the leaves are removed. Matcha typically contains higher levels of antioxidants, chlorophyll and L‑theanine than regular green tea.

How should I taste and store matcha?

Store matcha airtight, dark and cool. After opening, keep it in the fridge if possible. Always use a dry spoon and close the tin immediately to protect color, aroma and flavor.

How do I determine matcha quality?

Look for a bright, vibrant green color, ultra‑fine texture (no grittiness), and a delicate, creamy umami taste without harsh bitterness. Megami Matcha is premium grade and sourced directly from Japan.

Does matcha have health benefits?

Matcha is rich in antioxidants (like catechins), supports a normal metabolism, and thanks to L‑theanine helps you feel calm yet focused. Always consult your physician for medical advice.

Is Megami Matcha organic and sustainably sourced?

Our matcha is grown in Japan on small tea farms using sustainable practices. We build long‑term relationships with growers and prioritize transparent sourcing.

How do I prepare matcha (hot/cold/latte)?

Whisk 1–2 g matcha with 60 ml water at around 80°C until smooth and frothy using a bamboo whisk (chasen). Top up with hot water for usucha or add milk/plant milk for a matcha latte. For iced matcha: first dissolve with a splash of cold water, then add ice and water or milk.

How long does matcha stay fresh?

After opening, matcha stays at its best for up to about 6 months when kept cool and airtight. Always check the best‑before date on the package.

How can I place an order?

Add products to your cart, enter your details, and pay securely using credit card, iDEAL, or other available methods at checkout. A confirmation email will follow immediately.

What happens with pre‑orders?

Your entire order ships when all items, including pre‑orders, are in stock. Prefer separate shipping? Place non‑pre‑order items in a separate order.

Can I pay later or use discount codes?

Available payment options are shown at checkout. Enter any coupon code in the dedicated field on the checkout page.

Can I get an invoice for my order?

Yes. Email your order number to support@yoishomatcha.com and we’ll send your invoice by email.

Are my payment details secure?

Yes. All payments are processed over secure SSL connections by trusted payment providers.

Shipping and delivery

What are the shipping costs?

Shipping costs depend on your location. We offer free shipping on all orders within the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. For the rest of Europe, shipping costs are €4,95 and free from €49,95. For the UK and Ireland, shipping costs are €9,95 and free from €99,95. Orders to the US have a flat shipping rate of $10. For more information visit our Shipping and Delivery page

How fast will my order be shipped?

Orders in the Netherlands and Belgium placed before 23:00 on a working day are delivered the next working day. For the rest of Europe, delivery takes 2–4 working days. UK and Ireland and the US can expect delivery within 3–6 working days. For more information visit our Shipping and Delivery page.

Can I track my parcel?

Yes. You’ll receive an email with a Track & Trace link as soon as your order ships.

Can I ship to a pickup point?

Orders in the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark can be shipped to a pickup point. For all other countries, shipping to a pickup point is not available, please make sure to enter a home or business address at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to all European countries, the UK, Ireland, and the US. If your country isn't listed at checkout, feel free to send us a message and we'll look into adding it for you.

Order issues

My order arrived damaged, what now?

Email support@yoishomatcha.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We’ll resolve it as quickly as possible.

An item is missing from my parcel, what can I do?

Email your order number and the missing item(s) to support@yoishomatcha.com. We’ll check right away and arrange a reshipment or refund.

My tracking number says delivered, but I didn’t receive anything.

Please wait up to 3 business days, sometimes parcels are scanned as delivered a bit early. Also check with neighbors or reception. Still nothing? Contact support@yoishomatcha.com.

I haven’t received an order confirmation, is my order in?

First check your spam folder. If it’s not there, email support@yoishomatcha.com with your name and the email address used at checkout.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we can usually change or cancel it. Email support@yoishomatcha.com with your order number as soon as possible.

Returns and refunds

How do I return products?

We have a dedicated returns portal where you can purchase your return label and send back your parcel. Click this link to get started. If you're outside the Netherlands, Germany, or Belgium, or if you're unsure about the process, feel free to send us an email and we'll help you out.

Are return shipping costs my responsibility?

Yes, return shipping costs are covered by the customer unless stated otherwise.

How long does a refund take?

Once your return is received and checked, the refund will be issued within 5 days to your original payment method.
